I'm Highly Infected/Affected by the Media

hello readers!!! this is my first blog ever, so i'm going to keep it simple and informal. well, my objective for this blog is to keep track of media and society... so, this is what i think of the media- it gets me good!!! it gets me good, and i know it gets the rest of the society (yes, readers of this blog are included!) good as well. so here's an example of the media getting me good... well, i turned on the t.v. and what is the first thing i see? I see Christina Aguilera dancing and prancing about in the hottest shoes i've ever seen! i think, OMG! MUST GET SHOES! well then, right after Christina zips off the television set, a Target commercial comes on advertising the cutest shirt that would match the hottest shoes. i think, "DAMN TARGET! THEY KNOW ME SOOOO WELL! ," so of course... i run off to target to buy the cutest shirt, the Christina Aguilera CD, but i can't stop there of course, so i buy the new power drink i read about in a magazine, and various other items i'd seen in various forms of media a.k.a. every television station, every girly magazine, and every radio station! Then, i run off to the mall to do the same, and to buy the hottest shoes. i'm such a sucker for the media. Not only do i consume what the media tells me to, but i consume the media itself, ex. buying magazines ( i've got to read about the latest development in Christina's life and i MUST, MUST read about the hot new lip gloss out on the market!) At the end of the day, so now as i write this, i recall how much money the media has swayed me to use, and i think, "DAMN THE MEDIA", but then i glance over at my hot new shoes, and i think... "OH, HOW I LOVE THE MEDIA!" (:
